Todd Brunson is the son of Doyle Brunson, a very successful professional poker player who has already won ten World Series of Poker bracelets. Doyle never taught Todd Brunson how to play poker. Todd Brunson learned how to play such casino game on his own while he was a law student at Texas Tech University. This did not seem good for his ambition to become a lawyer because he came to a decision that he would not want to pursue his senior year in law anymore. Instead, he realized that he wanted to become a professional poker player. This made him drop out of law school.

When he started to become a professional poker player, Todd Brunson would most of the time tag along with Doyle to play cash games at the Bellagio casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Eventually, he started to participate in different poker tournaments.

It was in 1992 when Todd Brunson tasted his first dose of success. He placed thirteenth in a No Limit Hold'em competition conducted by the World Series of Poker Championship. Since then, he has been playing successfully, allowing him to be recognized as one of the best professional poker players.

In 2005, Todd Brunson has won the respect of professional poker players even more because he earned his first World Series of Poker bracelet when he played at the tournament's Omaha High Low event. In the same year, his father also won a World Series of Poker bracelet. Now, isn't that such an achievement for the Brunsons?

Born on August 7, 1969, Todd Brunson is fondly called the Darkhorse in the poker world. He got such name from people who watched him play in a tournament where he seemed to be an underdog but defeated several notable professional poker players, including Chip Reese.

This professional poker player also participates in the Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament. In fact, in its second season, he had the opportunity to reach the grand finals and experienced competing against professional poker player Johnny Chan. In the same season, Todd Brunson won first place in an event wherein he defeated Ted Forrest and took home US$500,000.

Still in the Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament, this professional poker player also joined in its third season and defeated Antonio Esfandiari. He took home a sum of US$400,000.

These are only some of the contributions of Todd Brunson in the poker world. He has also participated in other poker events and has helped his father write the book "Super System 2."

It seems that this professional poker player is not pressured by the success of his father because he is making a name in the industry all on his own.
